THE GUARNERIUS CULTURAL INSTITUTION
The Guarnerijus cultural institution is situated in the heart of old Belgrade, near the bohemian quarter of Skadarlija. The building was commissioned by industrialist Dimitri Milojević and designed by Russian architects Vasiljev and Kozinski. It is protected by the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments.
The institution is named after Pietro Guarneri, a renowned violin maker from Venice. Our celebrated violinist and the founder of this cultural hub is Maestro Jovan Kolundžija, who plays on his instrument built in 1754. We use the coat of arms of the famous Guarneri family as our trademark with their permission.
